Sepia Scenes ~ Summerland Of Old

Once upon a time, Summerland was a dance hall used by the cottagers and residents of the area around the eastern end of Kahshe Lake and the surrounding community. It has had several incarnations which ended after becoming a "corner" store. It has been standing empty now for a long time and is now slowly crumbling away. It makes me a little sad to see this once lively landmark in our community so desolate.

It's sad to think people don't dance anymore.

I do love your sepia.

It's hard to see buildings fall apart. Makes a wonderful subject for Sepia Scenes though.

An excellent subject for Sepia!
It still looks like it might have the bones to be restored if someone would.

even as a country store it has charm, especially in sepia. We have an old dance hall on the "old highway" that has also changed hands and purposes many times until it has now fallen into disrepair and just sits there in its ruined state reminding us all of days gone by

sepia scene #25

It is sad, Jennie. But your photos will keep it alive for time to come! :)

This makes me think of an old campground general store that during the season is never closed and always hopping.

Empty buildings look sad as they slowly fall in on themselves*!*

This photo speaks volumns! What a great capture! It is so sad to see what was once such a vibrant place dwindle down to this isolation. The charm and excitement can still be felt by your picture even though it is quiet and empty! Your talent is extraordinary! The way you are able to capture such details is Great! Wonderful post!!!!
